Directions

We recognize the heap leach failure at Eagle Gold mine on June 24, 2024 is serious. We are watching the situation closely. As a regulator and enforcement body, we are directing the company when appropriate. We are staying flexible to handle changes quickly. Our two key priorities are keeping the site safe and protecting the environment.

Inspector’s directions

The Government of Yukon has issued the following water-related inspector’s directions to Victoria Gold Corporation to ensure an appropriate response to the situation. Water-related Inspector's directions are hosted officially on Waterline, they are listed here once available. 

July 20, 2024:

Groundwater interception

Risk mitigation, Monitoring and response, Hazard assessment
