Location: Hershel Island/Inuvik, Northwest Territories
Purpose of the trip: Minister Dendys visited Herschel Island with Historic sites and Heritage Resources crews while the ice house and whalers graves were monitored and assessed. This work is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site nomination and it is expected from the Minister to understand the intricate challenge this unique ecosystem is facing in order to advocate for Yukon’s natural and historic resources. This has to be witnessed first hand.
