Child and Family Services Act extension of statutory timelines

There is an extension of statutory timelines under sections 16 and 17 of the Child and Family Services Act. This is to ensure that youth who currently receive supports and/or services from Family and Children’s Services continue to do so during the pandemic. Under section 16, support services that would end, or which have already ended between March 27, 2020, and the date of this extension order, are extended to the end of the state of emergency, plus 90 days. Under section 17, transitional support services that would end, or which have already ended between March 27, 2020, and the date of this extension order, are extended to the end of the state of emergency, plus 90 days.
