There are 4 district mining recorders' offices. Each office administers mineral tenure for the district which it's in. Office staff can provide:
- information on areas that are open for staking;
- guidelines for staking;
- printing of paper maps and forms; and
- requirements for working your claim such as notifications and authorizations.

The mining recorders’ offices have moved to an appointment-based system on a permanent basis.
Contact the office 3 to 4 days prior to find an appointment time that works with your schedule. Appointments are 15 minutes long. Come prepared and, if possible, fill out your forms ahead of time.
