Find a mining recorder's office

There are 4 district mining recorders' offices. Each office administers mineral tenure for the district which it's in. Office staff can provide:

  • information on areas that are open for staking;
  • guidelines for staking;
  • printing of paper maps and forms; and
  • requirements for working your claim such as notifications and authorizations.

Book an appointment to visit the office

The mining recorders’ offices have moved to an appointment-based system on a permanent basis.

Contact the office 3 to 4 days prior to find an appointment time that works with your schedule. Appointments are 15 minutes long. Come prepared and, if possible, fill out your forms ahead of time.
