As a Government of Yukon employee we provide you with access to professional training and development opportunities so that you will have plenty of resources to develop your interests, further your career, stay challenged and energized throughout the working day.
Classroom based courses and training
We offer our employees a variety of in-class courses and training that are available at no cost. Topics include:
- skills for administrative professionals;
- communication skills and working with people;
- designing policy and programs;
- French language training;
- health and safety;
- leadership, supervising and managing;
- understanding the public service;
- wellness and resilience; and
The training we offer is also available to Yukon First Nations governments, the Council of Yukon First Nations, and Boards and Councils.
Online self-directed training
As an employee, you will have access to online self-directed training on topics such as finance, procurement, protection of privacy and health and safety.
You can also sign up for a Lynda.com account and take online courses to help you learn leadership, technology, creative and project management skills. We have a corporate subscription that is available to employees at no cost.
Funding for outside training and education
We support employee learning by helping to offset the costs of externally offered courses, conferences and workshops, or to follow a program of study that will earn you a certificate, diploma or degree.
Career advising services
Through career advising services, we support employees to research new opportunities, reflect on interests and strengths, navigate current issues, apply for jobs, ask for feedback and find ways to add value to the workplace and life.
