Should there be a cap on jackpots?
- 35 per cent of respondents said they thought Yukon should have a cap on the overall jackpot amount for progressive raffles;
- 52 per cent said there should be no cap;
- 13 per cent said they were not sure.
Percentage of respondents who think the following should be included in a safety or security plan for progressive raffles:
- 17 per cent of people agreed that the plan should include monitoring and reporting;
- 65 per cent said eligibility to win;
- 57 per cent said security and venue requirements;
- 48 per cent said timeframes;
- 48 per cent said the amount and distribution of prizes;
- 39 per cent said potential limits on ticket sale value;
- Other responses included security of monies, and deciding on limits at the time of issuing the license.
Proposed changes to the Lotteries and Games of Chance Regulation will allow charitable organizations to run progressive raffles such as Chase the Ace for fundraising activities. We're asking for input on the proposed changes to the Regulation.
Current regulations do not include progressive raffles, which have become an increasingly important and popular fundraising choice for charitable organizations.
