The engagement survey results will be used to inform the legislative review of the SCAN Act. A report will be tabled during the Spring 2027 session of the Legislative Assembly, which will include a summary of what was heard during this engagement and how the public input will be considered in recommendations for amendments to the legislation.

We are seeking your input to inform the review of the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Act (SCAN). We want to know your thoughts and concerns on property-based illegal activities. This engagement is a part of a large-scale legislative review to examine the Act and its implementation to promote community and neighbourhood safety.
Your responses will help the Government of Yukon understand how Yukoners may be affected by the current Act and potential changes that may be required. It will also help inform how the Act might be improved to better address the concerns of Yukoners and the evolving trends in organized crime.
