George Black ferry in Dawson

This ferry connects the North Klondike Highway and the Top of the World Highway across the Yukon River.

Status

The ferry is currently open for the season.

The ferry runs from mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather conditions.

Schedule

The ferry runs 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Ferry service stops for maintenance on Thursdays from 5 am to 7 am.

How to use the ferry

  • Users line up on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis. There are no reservations.
  • You can ride the ferry on foot, bicycle or in your vehicle.
  • A crossing takes 6 to 7 minutes.
  • You may have to wait slightly longer in the morning and evening due to heavier traffic volumes.

Restrictions

RVs and other oversized vehicles can use the ferry. The wait time may be longer depending on the demand.

You can bring confined or leashed animals on the ferry.


Pelly Barge in Ross River

This ferry connects the Canol Road across the Pelly River.

Status

The Pelly Barge ferry in Ross River is currently closed.

Schedule

The ferry runs from the 1st week of June to the 2nd Tuesday of October, depending on weather conditions.
