The Government of Yukon is making 43 new residential lots available in Haines Junction through a land lottery now underway in the Dhäl Ghą̄y (Mountain Ridge) subdivision. The lottery includes 37 single-family lots and six duplex lots, providing more opportunities for Yukoners to build homes and grow their families in rural Yukon.
Lottery applications will be accepted until 4:30 pm on October 2, 2026, at the district office in Haines Junction at 246 Haines Road, the Land Management Branch in Whitehorse or a local district office. The lottery draw will take place October 7, 2026.
Improving access to land for Yukoners, housing and development is a key mandate commitment of the Yukon government.
We are making more land available to support new housing in rural Yukon. These 43 new lots give people more options to put down roots and build a home in Haines Junction. We will continue working with communities to get more land ready for housing where it is needed.

The lots are between 302 and 697 square metres in size and are priced between $45,024 and $87,472.

A non-refundable application fee of $26.25 and a $300 administrative deposit are required when submitting your application.

These lots are subject to a five-year agreement-for-sale and a five-year building commitment, determined with input from the Village of Haines Junction.

The Government of Yukon works with municipalities and First Nations to develop new land parcels and lots to create more residential, commercial, industrial and public service spaces that meet their priorities.
