A call for project proposals is now open for the Building UP funding program for projects starting in 2027. Organizations must submit a project concept proposal by November 13, 2026, at 4:30 pm.
Eligible projects will be assessed on the proposed activities, the organization’s ability to deliver them and how they support Yukon labour market services and priorities. Selected organizations will be invited to submit a full application.
This process acts as an expression of interest, allowing organizations to submit projects for consideration before preparing a full application. It also allows proposals to be assessed together rather than on a first-come, first-served basis, to help responsibly manage funding and meet the territory’s labour market priorities.
Building UP funds eligible projects that support employability, workforce participation, skills development or career exploration in the Yukon. Eligible activities include skills training, work placements, employment assistance and employer support services.
Organizations that have received Building UP funding before, as well as those considering applying for the first time, can review the program guidelines to learn about eligibility requirements, eligible activities and the application process.
-
Building UP supports five categories of activities: employment assistance services for individuals, skills development, work experience, employer assistance services and labour market information.
-
Selected organizations will receive a full application package by November 20, 2026, including a list of required supporting documents. A new online form is intended to reduce red tape and make the application process easier to navigate.
-
Completed online applications and all required supporting documents must be submitted by December 7, 2026.
-
Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by February 12, 2027.
-
Approved projects may begin on or after April 1, 2027.
