Yukon Public Libraries has not charged fines on overdue materials since 2023. That means items that are not returned in a timely manner are subject to replacement costs.
Borrowed materials which are 28 days overdue will be invoiced the cost of the material. If you return your item within 90 days of the invoice date, the charge will be removed. If you pay for the lost item and find and return it within 90 days of the invoice date, you will receive a refund.
After the 90 days, the item will need to be re-ordered so the charge will remain on your account until it is paid. There will be no refunds beyond this point, even if the item is found.
-
Yukon Public Libraries remain fine free; if you return your item late there is no charge.
-
The charge after 28 days overdue is so the library can reorder lost items in the collection for others to enjoy.
-
Items in the physical collection can be borrowed up to 28 days and can be renewed twice for another 28 days each time.

If the public has concerns or questions about invoicing, they can speak to a librarian at the Info Desk. Call 867-667-3668 or email [email protected].
