Registration opens for Yukon First Nation Citizens to receive free coding training

Registration has opened for Yukon First Nations students to register for a free virtual coding training program, access to local mentors,  and the opportunity to seek an entry-level technology position upon graduation.

The program will last four months and will accommodate 25 students. The deadline to register is June 16, 2022, and the program will begin in July.

The program is being offered through a partnership between the Government of Yukon, Yukon First Nations Education Directorate, Yukon University, and ComIT, with the support of Google.

To learn more and register for the program, please visit ComIT.

The technology sector is growing within the Yukon, across Canada and around the world. This free coding training program will give Yukon First Nation students coding skills and an opportunity to fill positions in the Yukon’s technology sector. I encourage students interested in technology and coding to register. Thank you to Yukon University and ComIT for hosting this training and providing this opportunity for Yukon students.

Minister of Economic Development Ranj Pillai
