Whitehorse school bus routes for the 2025–26 school year have been updated and are now online. Families who registered for the bus by the July 1 deadline will receive an email with their assigned bus route by Friday, August 22. Families who registered before the deadline and did not receive a bus assignment should email [email protected].
Any application submitted after July 1 is considered a late application. Late applications will be reviewed and assigned to existing routes based on available space. Families who registered late will receive an email when late registrations have been processed. Late registrations are being processed as quickly as possible.
During the second week of September, school bus drivers will provide each student with a school bus tag, which includes their school bus number. These tags are to accompany students, usually on their school bag. They ensure school bus drivers can quickly check that students are boarding the correct unassigned bus.
Special requests, such as riding the bus somewhere other than a child’s home address, are assessed at the start of the new school year. Families will hear back about special requests by September 4, 2025.

Families in rural communities should contact their school directly for busing options.
-
Register for My School Bus Monitor to get email alerts about school bus delays at Yukon.ca.
-
For those who have not yet registered, late registration may be accommodated with existing bus routes. Instructions for how to register can be found on Yukon.ca.
-
Whitehorse high school students can choose to register for a City of Whitehorse transit pass instead of a school bus. They cannot register for both. Once their registration is submitted, they will receive a confirmation email with more information.
-
Anyone needing to request a change to their existing route assignment can enter their new information into the online registration form and select ‘change to existing registration’. Follow the instructions on how to register for the school bus.
-
During the school year, if there are any concerns about student behavior on buses, please contact the school principal – school buses are considered an extension of the classroom.
