School bus routes ready for the 2021–22 school year

School bus routes for the 2021–22 school year have been finalized and bus schedules can be found on online.

Families have been notified by email of which bus route their child has been assigned. This email applies to all students in the household who have been registered for the school bus service.

Parents and guardians are asked to register their children for the school bus and ensure their information is up to date. They can follow the bus registration process by completing the Annual School Bus Registration form and submitting it to the Student Transportation Branch at student.transportation@yukon.ca. It can also be submitted in person at the Department of Education at 1000 Lewes Boulevard in Whitehorse or faxed to 867-667-8243.

The same process applies to those who had a child registered for the bus last year but don’t intend on using the service for the 2021–22 school year.

If parents and guardians have registered their child for the school bus and have not received an email, they should contact the Student Transportation Branch at student.transportation@yukon.ca or call 867-667-5172.

School buses will be operating normally for the 2021–22 school year with the added health and safety measure of required mask use for all drivers and riders age five and older.

As students and parents prepare for a near-normal return to the school year in two weeks, we are ensuring students have access to safe and efficient transportation to and from school. Buses will soon be rolling down our streets. Remember, to reduce your speed in school zones, do not pass school buses when their lights are flashing and follow traffic rules to keep our kids safe.
