Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:
“As we celebrate the beginning of the third annual Hindu Heritage Month, I want to take a moment to honour the culture, traditions and contributions that the Hindu community has brought to the Yukon and all of Canada. This month serves as an opportunity to recognize the impact of Hindu philosophy, art and spirituality on our shared values of diversity and inclusion.
“Hindu Heritage Month is not just about reflection, it is also about celebration. It encourages all of us to learn from one another, building understanding and respect across cultures. The teachings of Hinduism promote harmony, compassion and the pursuit of knowledge – principles that resonate with all Yukoners’ common goals for a better world.
“Let us use this month to engage with one another, participate in community events and share in the joyous celebrations that highlight the vibrancy of Hindu culture. Together, we can create a community where every individual’s heritage is recognized and valued.
“I extend my best wishes to everyone this Hindu Heritage Month. May this time be filled with joy, enlightenment and a deepened sense of unity.
“Happy Hindu Heritage Month to all!”
