Third call for COVID-19 Recovery Research Program launched

The Government of Yukon is pleased to announce its third and final call for proposals under the Yukon COVID-19 Recovery Research Program.

With support from the Government of Canada, the COVID-19 Recovery Research Program offers a total of $1 million in funding for research that increases our understanding the impacts of the pandemic in the Yukon and supports recovery and future emergency planning.

Under this third call, $300,000 is available for research that addresses specific questions identified and prioritized by the interagency leadership team. Each successful project may receive up to $75,000 in funding.

While the two previous calls for proposals have been limited to invited applicants, this call is open to any researchers who would like to address one of the targeted questions identified in the call. A full list of questions is available on the program landing page

Those who are interested in applying can contact the Office of the Science Advisor at osa@yukon.ca and for more information on the program visit yukon.ca/covid-19-research-recovery-program. The application deadline is May 2, 2022.

Research funded under this program supports the pandemic-related planning and decision-making needs of the Government of Yukon, the Government of Canada, Yukon First Nations governments, Yukon communities and other organizations in the territory.

By understanding how the pandemic has impacted Yukoners, businesses, organizations and our society as a whole, we have an opportunity to learn important lessons that will help us better understand the impacts of the pandemic and support future emergency planning. I encourage academics, community organizations and industry leaders to apply for this funding and help the Yukon identify how we can continue to move forward together.

Premier Sandy Silver
