To support spring clean-up, the Government of Yukon will be waiving tipping fees on select waste items at government-run solid waste facilities from May 15 to 19, 2025.
Fees will be waived on non-commercial waste that is self-hauled in either a car, pick-up truck or small utility trailer, including untreated wood and uncontaminated brush, wooden furniture, mattresses and box springs, household waste, construction and demolition waste and free store items.
Waiving tipping fees supports Yukoners who want to do a spring clean-up or FireSmart their properties. Tipping fees will still apply on all end-of-life vehicles, scrap metals, appliances and commercial loads.
A sure sign of spring is Yukoners cleaning up a winter’s worth of accumulation from their yards. We are happy to help with that important work by waiving tipping fees during this time and encourage Yukoners to properly sort their waste.
