How to maintain a register of individuals with significant control of a corporation

As of June 1, 2025, Yukon corporations need to keep a list of individuals with significant control (ISC) of their corporation, sometimes referred to as beneficial owners. This improves transparency of Yukon corporations and helps prevent money laundering, tax evasion and other illegal acts.  Yukon corporations must create their register by June 1, 2026.

Individuals with significant control (“ISCs”)

An ISC is anyone who owns or controls 25 per cent or more of the corporation’s shares or otherwise has control of the corporation.
