Statement from Premier Dixon on the swearing in of Liard First Nation new Chief and Council

Premier Currie Dixon has issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I would like to congratulate Harlan Schilling on being sworn in as the newly elected Chief of Liard First Nation.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations to the new Deputy Chief Fred Loots Jr. and the six councillors Sheila Caesar, Paul Caesar-Jules, Daniel Dick, Lisa Horsey, Amanda Johnston and Brandy McMillan who were also sworn in today.

“I look forward to continuing our work with Liard First Nation and Daylu Dena Council on shared priorities that strengthen the Watson Lake region and southeastern Yukon.

“Thank you to Stephen Charlie for his leadership and service during his two terms in office. I wish him all the best in his path ahead.”
