The Government of Yukon has added 10 lots for over-the-counter purchase giving Yukoners another opportunity to purchase land for residential and commercial development.
The lots are located in Whitehorse, Haines Junction, Mayo and Carmacks and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Over-the-counter lot sales are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to make land available which is an important part of addressing the Yukon’s housing needs and supporting economic growth.
Over-the-counter sales complement the government’s land lotteries and tenders as well as provide another way for Yukoners to access developed land.
Lot and purchase information is available at Yukon.ca/buy-developed-lot or by contacting the Land Management Branch at 867-667-5215 or [email protected].
We need to keep putting land on the market if we want to build more homes and support a growing economy. That means making land available in Whitehorse and in communities across the Yukon. Over-the-counter sales give Yukoners another way to access land without waiting for a lottery or tender. We have just made another 10 developed lots available and we will continue adding lots to the inventory as they become ready. Getting more land into the hands of Yukoners is part of the practical work we are doing to support housing and economic development across the territory.
-
Over-the-counter lots are regularly available on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Developed lots are first offered through a land lottery or tender process. Lots that remain available after those processes may be offered for over-the-counter sale.
