Parenting in the Online World is a free webinar designed for parents, guardians and other caring adults from all Yukon communities. It’ll help you:
- better understand the risks that children may encounter online; and
- feel more confident:
- having ongoing conversations about online safety, privacy and healthy relationships; and
- seeking help when needed.
Using a practical framework known as the 3 Cs: content, contact, and conduct, the session explores online risks in a way that remains relevant regardless of changing apps, platforms, or digital trends. You'll also learn:
- strategies for creating a safer online environment at home; and
- about the services and resources available to support you when you need them.
The session will be led by Mia Kirbyson, an education and training coordinator at the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P), with a diverse background in education and supporting children, youth, and families.
