Adults and children 7 years or older are welcome to attend. Wear clothing that allows for free body movement.

This session will take place outside, either on the grass behind Swan Haven or on the lake shore. Dress accordingly and wear footwear for standing on snow and/or ice.

Description

One of the best ways to make good observations of wildlife is by trying to draw it. Sketching in a notebook forces us to look at the details and note colour, shape or size. At this workshop we’ll share some strategies for making quick sketches, keeping field journals, and what to look for when watching wildlife. Bring your own notebooks and pencils if you’d like, but we’ll provide paper and pencils and some cooperative subjects to practice sketching.

This is a stationary outdoor event next to a still-frozen lake, so remember to dress warmly.

Please register for this event (free) as space is limited. Register for this event (opens at noon one week before).

Location: The picnic tables outside Swan Haven
