Site description
- Kusawa Lake is one of the six road-accessible campgrounds with reservable campsites. Book a site now or learn more about campsite reservations.
- Many kayakers and canoeists begin their Takhini River day-trips from here, the lake outlet or the Takhini River Campground.
- Kusawa Territorial Park is popular for boating, fishing and hiking in the nearby mountains.
- Use binoculars to spot Dall's Sheep on the mountains.
- If you plan to camp here on a long weekend, have a back-up plan in case the campground is full.
- The Tlingit name Kùsawu.â means “narrow lake.”
- The Southern Tutchone name Nekhᶙ Män means “rafting across lake,” speaking to the narrowest point where people crossed.
