Use motor vehicles office services by phone and online if you can

We're still limiting office capacity for in-person visitors at the Motor Vehicles office. If you can, use online services, such as renewing your vehicle registration, or contact our office by phone to find out which services we can still provide.

Renew vehicle registration

Renew online

Renew your vehicle registration for as many vehicles as needed in a single online submission.

Once you’ve completed the vehicle registration renewal process, you can print your registration certificate at home. You no longer need a licence plate stickers so your registration renewal takes effect right away.

Before you start

Before you start the online renewal process, make sure you have everything you need, including:

  • registration renewal notice containing your one-time online access code;
  • current insurance policy information; and
  • credit card to pay the renewal fee.

Note: if you have any outstanding parking tickets that total $100 or more, you will not be able to renew your vehicle registration until you’ve paid all outstanding fines. This includes:

  • City of Whitehorse parking tickets; and
  • summary conviction tickets, such as speeding tickets.

We encourage you to access our online services, whenever possible. To renew in person, bring everything you need, including your:
