Find a timber harvest plan for Dawson City

Timber harvest plans help ensure the sustainable use of forests. These plans cover landscape units ranging from 5,000 hectares to around 300,000 hectares. These identify:

  • areas proposed for forest resource harvesting;
  • where and how timber will be removed; and
  • strategies for minimizing or removing negative environmental impacts on other natural resources.

2022 Goldfields timber harvest plan

Description:

The Goldfields Timber Harvest Plan is located approximately 42 kilometres southeast of Dawson City on the Dominion Road and approximately 48 kilometres east on the North Klondike Highway. This plan covers about 9,455 hectares with a total estimated 19,890 cubic metres of fuelwood. (55,089.11 KB)

2020 French Gulch timber harvest plan

Description:

This timber harvest plan changes the seasonal harvesting restriction of the 2018 French Gulch Timber Harvest Plan. The seasonal closure is now from October 15 to 31 each year. The plan area reopens on November 1. There is also a new operating unit in this plan. (1,403.00 KB)

Description:

This timber harvest plan area is accessed from the French Gulch Road. It's about 20 kilometres south of Dawson City. This plan covers about 2,280 hectares with an average of 35 to 40 cubic metres of fuelwood per hectare. (1,368.77 KB)

Description:

This timber harvest plan area is located about 42 kilometres south of Dawson City. It's on the Dominion Road within the Goldfields. The plan encompasses 385 hectares with total estimated fuelwood volume of 7,486 cubic metres. (704.37 KB)

Description:

This timber harvest plan area is about 65 kilometres south of Dawson City. It's accessible by the Bonanza Road or Hunker Creek Road. The plan area is about 3,880 hectares with fuelwood volume of about 23,043 cubic metres. (1,520.88 KB)

Description:
