Timber harvest plans

Draft plan:

Scoby Creek draft timber harvest plan

Geographic region:

Watson Lake District, Kaska Traditional Territory

Details:

The Forest Management Branch and Liard First Nation recently agreed to collaborate and co-operate in the joint development and recommendation of timber harvest plans, other forest management and forestry.

The Scoby Creek area is located approximately 85 kilometres east of Watson Lake. The boundary of the proposed plan is a 2015 wildfire east of Scoby Creek. The plan proposes harvesting of approximately 643 hectares of fire-killed timber over a planning area of approximately 7,900 hectares. Access relies on the existing road network with limited new road building into designated cut blocks.
