Yukon government streamlines Building UP and Staffing UP programs

The Government of Yukon is making it easier for people to access funding through the Building UP and Staffing UP programs by introducing an online project concept form.

These programs provide funding to support businesses, service providers, employees and job seekers, helping with different needs across the Yukon’s labour market.

Previously, applicants were required to contact the Government of Yukon and complete a paper-based form. This form is now available online. Once applications are submitted, a program officer will follow up with applicants. The streamlined approach improves service, reduces processing time and supports the Government of Yukon’s commitment to reducing red tape and making programs easier to access.

Staffing UP provides funding to employers for labour market projects that support the development of current and future employees. This includes creating new training opportunities, supporting workforce development, introducing innovative workplace practices and providing workplace accommodations.

Building UP provides funding to organizations that deliver supports to individuals and employers, as well as projects that strengthen the labour market. These initiatives help connect more people to available and future job opportunities.

Our government wants to see a strong Yukon economy where the private sector is robust and thriving. These funding programs support our goal to uplift the private sector and this online form not only reduces red tape but promotes more streamlined program delivery.
