How to get rid of compostables
Residents of Whitehorse can use the residential green cart program. More information can be found on the city’s website.
If you live outside of Whitehorse, you can consider backyard composting. Keep in mind that we live in bear country. We recommend protecting compost with a well-maintained electric fence. You can find out how to build and maintain a fence by reading Reducing wildlife conflict with electric fencing: A beginner's guide.
