What we're working on: Fall 2025

These quarterly posts provide updates on some of the digital service delivery projects the government is working on. For those new to the blog, our unit (eServices for Citizens) works with department teams to design and deliver digital services that are simple and fast and strive to improve the user experience.

We group these updates based on the type of digital service. For example a transactional service or a website.

Citizen engagement

We're finalizing the onboarding of the citizen engagement platform Social Pinpoint. This includes completing the privacy impact assessment, creating guidance for staff and providing training for staff. We're looking forward to launching the platform in December.

Email newsletters and notifications

Several department have started to publish email newsletters and notifications since we launched the Envoke platform last winter.

InFARMation is published by the Agriculture Branch. They have 2 longer email newsletters a year and people can also subscribe to get InFARMation Bites – a shorter newsletter they publish more frequently.

So far they have around 340 subscribers!

Wildland Fire Management publish Yukon Wildfire Updates during wildfire season. They also publish notifications for people interested in wildland firefighting jobs.

Combined, they have around 2800 subscribers!

The Department of Environment is not publishing their Wildlife Viewing e-newsletter at the moment, but over the summer they had around 340 subscribers!

If you're interested in using this publishing platform you can email [email protected] to set up a demo.

Transactional services

Apply for community development funding

The Department of Economic Development launched a new fund management service in August and used it for their most recent Community Development Fund Tier 2 intake.  They received 18 applications, requesting more than $1 million in total funding via the new system. View the fund management system.

Online event registration

We’ve applied the government branding, and we're developing training, templates and guidance for staff. We’re in the process of wrapping up the privacy impact assessment and the security-and-threat risk assessment. We expect to start rolling out the platform across the government by the end of 2025.

Websites

Digital Service Delivery Guide

This website provides vendors and staff with guidance to meet the government’s Digital Service Standards

It’s constantly evolving and we’ve recently overhauled the Service Maturity Assessment section of the site. We used to conduct service maturity assessments to check in with teams to make sure digital services align with the standards throughout the service delivery process. We've updated this process by separating user experience (UX) from other requirements.

Over the next few months we’ll be re-platforming this site to the latest version of Drupal and we’re also adding in content and links to better describe processes and templates used for a variety of ESRI-based services and sites.

Health care jobs in the Yukon

This campaign website is part of the recruitment strategy to give prospective employees one place to see health care job postings. It launched a few months ago with Government of Yukon health care jobs. The team plan to add Yukon Hospital Corporation jobs in a future iteration.

Quitpath

The Quitpath website supports people who are looking to reduce or quit using commercial tobacco products. The Drupal build phase is nearing completion and we’re anticipating a January launch.

Research libraries online catalogue

The Energy, Mines and Resources Library, the Yukon Archives Library, and the Yukon Public Law Library recently moved their online catalogue to a new software provider. The new software is more user-friendly and up-to-date. Library users can search the catalogue of all three research libraries at once, or filter their searches to only one library. View the research libraries online catalogue.

Yukon airports and aerodromes

This website consolidates all Yukon airport and aerodrome information in one place. Users can visit the site to get information about the Whitehorse airport and their flights as well as information for people doing business at Yukon airports. Visit the new Yukon airports site.

Yukon Legislative Assembly

We’re wrapping up work on fixing some bugs and improving the Hansard search on the Yukon Legislative Assembly website.

Yukon.ca

Since the summer, we've been fixing bugs on Yukon.ca and we're about to launch a click-to-call button that users can select to talk to program staff. We're also making improvements to the back end of the website to help staff complete their work more efficiently. We hired a vendor to create a report with recommendations for the Yukon.ca Roadmap. We're reviewing the recommendations and figuring out how we can implement them to improve the roadmap, which will ultimately improve the user experience.
