Get 25 per cent of the purchase price up to a maximum of $750 to $2,500 depending on the size of the battery, for an e-transportation device.
You can get a rebate on the purchase of a new:
- motorcycle
- snowmobile
- all-terrain vehicle
- tractor
- electric boat
- other e-transportation device
Eligible Products
The e-transportation device must be:
- powered by an electric battery or motor;
- intended to transport people; and
- new and purchased from a business operating in Canada.
Products that fit the electric bike or electric vehicle rebate requirements should apply under those rebates.
The following products are not eligible for this rebate:
- devices that use fossil fuels; and
- devices purchased from a crowd-funding campaign website.
If a device is purchased outside of the Yukon, applicant must show proof that product was shipped and delivered to the Yukon (e.g., delivery slip or shipping receipt).
Eligible applicants
- Yukon residents;
- businesses registered in the Yukon;
- non-profit organizations registered in the Yukon;
- Yukon municipalities; and
- Yukon First Nations governments.
Quantity Limit
- Yukon residents can receive the rebate for up to 5 devices over the lifetime of the program.
- All other eligible applicants can receive the rebate for up to 10 devices per calendar year cumulatively across all categories.
Rebate Amount
The maximum rebate amount is based on the size of the device’s battery in kilowatt hours (kWh):
- up to $750 if the battery is less than 2.5 kWh;
- up to $1,500 if the battery is between 2.5 kWh and 14.9 kWh; or
- up to $2,500 if the battery is 15 kWh or larger
We calculate the rebate on the cost of the e-transportation device. It excludes costs such as:
- accessories
- shipping; or
- assembly
If your application is approved, you'll receive a rebate cheque in the mail within 12 weeks.
Apply for the rebate
At the time of purchase
You may receive a rebate directly from the vendor when you buy transportation device. In this case, you do not need to do anything else.
If you're a Yukon vendor, download the vendor application form. It allows you to be reimbursed for applying the rebate at the point of purchase. Both the vendor and buyer need to sign the form.
After you purchase
If you did not receive the rebate from the vendor, you can apply directly to the Energy Branch.
Your receipts and invoices must be dated within 1 year of submitting your rebate application.
