How Yukon Housing follows COVID-19 safety guidelines

What is Yukon Housing Corporation doing to ensure buildings are safe?

We're following the recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer of Health.

Our residential buildings

Cleaning

We've increased the amount of cleaning in our multi-unit residential buildings. This includes wiping down surfaces.

Physical distance

We're putting up posters that remind people to practice physical distancing. This means at least 6 feet, or 2 metres, between people who are not part of your household. Also, self-isolate if you're sick.

Your visitors

Remind friends and family not to enter your building if they have:

  • COVID-19 symptoms;
  • travelled out of the territory within the last 14 days; or
  • come into contact with someone who is suspected, or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

Our offices

To maintain a safe physical distance in our offices, we ask you to contact us by phone or email.

If you must come to the office, make sure you are 6 feet (2 metres) away from any other person at all times.

To protect the health and safety of our staff, please don’t come in if you have:

  • a fever, cough or shortness of breath;
  • travelled out of the territory within the last 14 days; or
  • come into contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

For emergency repairs to your home:

Contact us so that we can make emergency repairs in a safe way.

Emergency repairs include:

  • There is no heat, electricity or water to your unit
  • There is a threat to your safety or security (broken doors, missing windows, etc.)
  • The toilet is does not work and your unit only has 1 toilet
  • There is a water leak or flood in your unit
  • A window is broken during winter
  • You are locked out of your unit
