What is Yukon Housing Corporation doing to ensure buildings are safe?
We're following the recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
Our residential buildings
We've increased the amount of cleaning in our multi-unit residential buildings. This includes wiping down surfaces.
Remind friends and family not to enter your building if they have:
- COVID-19 symptoms; or
- come into contact with someone who is suspected, or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Yukon Housing Corporation offices in Whitehorse and communities are open. Remember, for all in-person interactions, Yukon Housing Corporation staff will maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet). Please respect this distance from staff and from other clients.
To protect the health and safety of our staff, please don’t come in if you have:
- a fever, cough or shortness of breath; or
- come into contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
If any of this applies to you, stay home, self-isolate and visit Yukon.ca or call 811. You can call us to make an appointment for a later date.
Masks are no longer mandatory in indoor public spaces, though you are strongly encourared to wear a mask.
For maintencance issues and emergency repairs to your home:
Contact us so that we can make maintenance and emergency repairs in a safe way.
For all in-person interactions, Yukon Housing Corporation staff will maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet). Please respect this distance while the maintenance person or contracter is in your unit, to help reduce the potential transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
