The Connected Health Strategy is a long-term plan to improve and modernize health care information systems across the Yukon.
The strategy has four main goals:
- Enable a connected health care system
- Improve access to services and information
- Support health care providers
- Strengthen electronic health infrastructure
Connected health uses secure technology to help you access health care services and information.
It also helps health care providers work together and access the information they need to provide quality service.
Why this strategy matters
Health care providers need the right information to give you the care you need. When health information systems work together, providers can find and share information more easily.
This strategy will help connect and improve health information systems across the Yukon. This means health care providers can spend less time on administrative tasks and more time caring for you.
The strategy was developed with input from:
- Yukon First Nations representatives;
- health care providers;
- patients;
- Yukon Hospital Corporation; and
- Yukon Medical Association.
