We have some user research (UX) projects coming up in the next 2 months and we’re recruiting participants. These UX studies will be on a reservation system and government websites.

We use UX research data to:

  • improve existing digital services and websites; and
  • identify and fix usability issues with new digital services and websites before we release them to the public.

How to participate

Email me at sara.bergquist@yukon.ca. I can talk about the projects and timing and we can see if there's an opportunity for you to participate.

You can also let me know if you prefer to do in-person testing or remote testing.

Remote and in person usability testing

Remote usability testing is a great way to particpate if you live outside Whitehorse or you prefer to stay in your office or at home. Our reseacher will meet with you online and watch you screen share as you use a website to complete some tasks.

In-person testing is a great option for people who will be in Whitehorse or prefer to meet in person during a typical government office work week (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm). You can bring your own device or use the laptop in our office.

Time commitment: 30 to 45 minutes.

We do this testing so we understand how people use our websites and digital services. This helps us identify issues and fix them to make these services easier for everyone to use.

Your participation matters

We know you're busy and it's a big ask to participate in these types of studies.

To show our appreciation, we're happy to share a summary of the research with you after the project so you can see how your input improved or will improve these digital services and websites for others.

Keeping your personal information secure

When we conduct user research, we only ask you for the minimum information possible for you to participate. The Government of Yukon will store this information on our secure drives, and we’ll only use it for the purposes you have authorized in the consent form we’ll share with you before your scheduled session.

Find out more about consent for user research projects.
