Explore MINFILE, the Yukon’s mineral occurrence database

MINFILE is a database that lists mineral occurrences of interest in the Yukon. It contains geological, location and economic information for each mineral occurrence, including:

  • status;
  • location;
  • deposit type;
  • commodity; and
  • work history.

The Yukon Geological Survey manages MINFILE.

Add or update a mineral occurrence

You can add a mineral occurrence in MINFILE or update an existing one.

  1. Fill out the MINFILE input and update form.
  2. Submit the form to the Yukon Geological Survey:

    In person: Room 102 of the Elijah Smith Building, 300 Main Street in Whitehorse. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
