Change your address
You are required by law to update the address on your driver’s licence. There is no charge to update this information.
- Go to a Motor Vehicles office and bring your current Yukon driver’s licence with you.
- Advise Motor Vehicles of your new address.
- Our staff will issue you a temporary licence, valid for 90 days. This card will reflect your current expiry date.
- Your new driver's licence will be printed within 3 business days and be mailed to you by Canada Post. The Canada Post delivery standard is 4-10 days. You should allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.
Change your licence class and add restrictions or endorsements
We will update your licence class and add restrictions or endorsements free of charge. Contact a Yukon Motor Vehicles office for more information.
Change your name
- Go to a Motor Vehicles office and bring your current Yukon driver’s licence with you.
- Bring original paperwork demonstrating your legal name change. Note: Bring in your marriage certificate(s) or legal name change document(s) if your birth certificate, valid passport or permanent resident card does not reflect your current legal surname.
- Our staff will issue you a temporary licence that will be valid for 90 days. This card will reflect your current expiry date.
- Your new driver's licence will be printed within 3 business days and be mailed to you by Canada Post. The Canada Post delivery standard is 4-10 days. You should allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.
