    What is a ventless clothes dryer?

    Traditional and ventless dryers use heated air to dry clothes. A traditional dryer exhausts the hot moist air from the house through a vent. A ventless dryer:

    • cools the air;
    • condenses it; and
    • collects it.

    The water is removed from the dryer by a drain or tray. Ventless dryers eliminate the need for a vent penetrating through the wall of a house. This can reduce air leakage and the potential for backdrafting of emissions from fossil-fuelled heating appliances.
