The last day of the serviced camping season is October 3, 2021.

October 4 through April 30, you may use campgrounds and recreation sites, but they are not serviced. Note that some have locked gates (details below); a printable-list is available here.

Check the current status as we may close sites due to flooding, wildlife danger, road conditions or other hazards.

Prepare to be self-sufficient in harsh winter conditions. 

No camping fees are charged between October 4 and April 30. You must bring your own toilet paper, firewood, and pack out your garbage. Please register all campsite use – day or night, year-round – using the permit envelopes provided in the campground.

About Government of Yukon campgrounds and recreation sites

There are over 50 road-accessible campgrounds and day-use recreation sites in the Yukon.

There are also many commercial campgrounds in the Yukon with additional amenities and services. Find them at travelyukon.com, in the Yukon Experience Guide, or ask at any visitor information centre.

Will I find a campsite when I get there?

The chance of finding a campsite varies by season and day of the week. Historic trends are indicated as follows:

Peak times

Poor availability, often full all week. Arrive early afternoon. Good availability Sun. - Thurs. night. Busy weekends and holiday weekends. Very good availability weekdays and weekends.
