The Yukon First Nation Violence Prevention Fund supports projects to prevent gender-based violence in Yukon First Nations communities.
Who can apply?
Yukon First Nation governments can apply for funding for projects focused on preventing gender-based violence. The Government of Yukon encourages partnership between governments applying for funding.
The following are not eligible for funding:
- Profit-making ventures;
- Fundraisers; and
- completed projects.
This fund is not intended to replace financial resources for any permanent project or program.

What is the purpose of the fund?
The purpose of the fund is to support projects that fulfill 1 or more of the following objectives:
- Support existing gender-based violence prevention programs. Ongoing projects can apply. For example, a program that is offered 2 days a week could be offered more often.
- Create new gender-based violence prevention initiatives.
Examples include:
- Programs that engage men and boys
- Indigenous-led prevention programs
- Community-based approaches to preventing gender-based violence
- Public education campaigns and materials
- Support services
- Training programs
- Professional development
We will assess applications based on their alignment with Yukon’s MMIWG2S+ Strategy.
How much can I apply for?
You can apply for funding between $50,000 and $100,000.
