What is the Housing Action Plan for Yukon?

In 2015, we released the Housing Action Plan for Yukon. It provides strategic direction for organizations that contribute to the housing landscape:

  • government;
  • non-government organizations; and
  • private sector.

Vision 2025 is a Yukon where a diversity and abundance of housing options increases the health and stability of all individuals and communities.

Since 2015, we have published 3 progress reports. The reports keep track of work completed and underway to achieve the Housing Action Plan for Yukon.

Next steps

In spring 2020, we'll refresh the Housing Action Plan to reflect work achieved in housing in the last 5 years. Achievements and the changing territorial housing landscape will shape the plan between now and 2025. Stay tuned for more information on the Housing Action Plan refresh work.

Since 2017, we've been integrating the National Housing Strategy's funding and targets into our plan's goals and actions. To achieve this, we've been working with:

the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation; and Yukon housing partners.

To complete our requirements under the National Housing Strategy, we've developed a 3-year action plan with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
