You can have some travel costs paid for to leave an unsafe situation in your home or community to:
- get to an emergency shelter or another safe place;
- attend a Victim Services’ office in Dawson, Watson Lake or Whitehorse;
- attend meetings or appointments with Victim Services, RCMP or other service providers; or
- get medical or forensic services, including a Sexual Assault Examination Kit.
You can also have your travel costs covered to return home after receiving services.
Eligible costs
Eligible costs for travel within the Yukon can include:
- flights, gas or per kilometre mileage;
- accommodation, including hotels; and
- food and other necessities during travel.
