Access funding support for packaging and paper costs

About the Packaging and Paper Rebate 

The Packaging and Paper Rebate is available to support local businesses participating in the packaging and paper products Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program. 

The rebate will help offset the higher per-product fees paid by Yukon businesses compared to businesses in Alberta and British Columbia.  

Funding for individual businesses

Eligible companies must:

• be a Yukon-based and owned company in good standing;
• have paid fees for the packaging and paper products EPR program; and
• have been invoiced during the 2026 calendar year.

Corporate or multinational businesses are excluded from the program, except locally owned franchisees.

The program is not intended to cover the entire cost of EPR to Yukon businesses or reimburse businesses for the administrative requirements of EPR.

Available funding

Yukon businesses may receive an offset up to 65 per cent of their total EPR invoice for 2026.

Submission deadline

The application deadline is December 31, 2026. Only costs incurred or invoices received between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, will be eligible for the rebate.
