If you have not renewed your licence by March 31, you must:

  • apply for reinstatement; and

Continuing competency requirements

The Yukon’s Physiotherapists Regulation, O.I.C. 2007/19 requires physiotherapists to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. You must do this by fulfilling annual continuing competency requirements. These include a specific number of continuing education and professional practice hours.

What hours can you claim in your renewal application?

Only hours you completed in the 5-year period before you submit your application.

Requirements

  • A total of 1,200 professional practice hours.
  • A minimum of 60 and no more than 300 of these 1,200 hours must be continuing education hours.
  • Up to 300 of your 1,200 professional practice hours can be professional volunteer hours.
  • The rest of your professional practice hours must be from professional employment activities within the physiotherapist scope of practice.
