All licensed real estate agencies and professionals in the Yukon must:
- register;
- hold a Yukon licence; and
- renew their licence every year.
Listed below is information on:
- eligibility;
- the documentation you'll need to provide to renew; and
- fees.
We recommend that you review this information before you apply to renew your licence.
Renewal period
The renewal period begins February 1. Apply for your renewal by March 1. This ensures we can process your licence before it expires on March 31.
It's illegal to do business or work in the new licence year before we've renewed your licence.
Processing time
We typically review applications within 30 business days. We'll confirm you've met all the legal requirements before we issue your licence.
We cannot process your application if you have not provided us with all the documentation we need.
This licence is for real estate businesses working in the Yukon. An agency can be a corporation, partnership or sole proprietorship.
Eligibility
A real estate agency can apply to renew its licence if it meets the following requirements.
- The business holds a current Yukon real estate agency licence.
- The business keeps a physical office in the Yukon.
- The business has a designated representative who holds a Yukon real estate agent licence.
- All others trading in real estate on behalf of the business hold a real estate salesperson licence. This includes business partners, members of the board of directors and employees.

Annual report to auditors form

Proof of surety bond

- An insurance company licensed in the Yukon must issue the surety bond.
- The bond must be in 1 of the following amounts:
- $10,000, if the business will employ 0 to 1 real estate salespeople.
- $20,000 if the business will employ 2 to 10 salespeople.
- $40,000 if the business will employ 11 or more real estate salespersons.

Annual licence fees
- To do business in a municipality in the Yukon: $25
- To do business outside of a Yukon municipality: $110
- If you do business in both: $135
Payment
If we approve your application, we'll email you an invoice for your annual licensing fee. Once you receive this invoice, you can pay through the portal.
This licence is for a real estate agency’s designated representative. An agent can be an agency’s only employee or can manage 1 or more salespeople. Some Canadian jurisdictions refer to a real estate agent as a real estate broker.
Eligibility
You’re eligible to renew a licence if:
- you hold a current real estate agent licence in the Yukon; and
- you are currently employed by a real estate agency that holds a valid Yukon agency licence.

Annual licence fees
- To do business in a municipality in Yukon: $25
- To do business outside of a Yukon municipality: $110
- If you do business in both: $135
Payment
If we approve your application, we'll email you an invoice for your annual licensing fee. Once you receive this invoice, you can pay through the portal.
This licence is for a real estate professional who will work under a real estate agent (broker).
Eligibility
You’re eligible to renew a licence if:
- you hold a current licence in the Yukon as a real estate salesperson; and
- a Yukon licensed real estate agent sponsors (employs) you.

Annual licence fee: $50.
Payment
If we approve your application, we'll email you an invoice for your $50 annual licensing fee. Once you receive this invoice, you can pay through the portal.
