  2. Complete the renewal application form
  3. Provide all supporting documents required
  4. Pay your fees
  5. Submit your complete application package
  1. Determine if you're eligible

All physiotherapists in Yukon must be registered, hold a certificate and renew it every year.

Complete this process if you currently hold a physiotherapist inactive certificate and want to renew it for another year.

Renewing your inactive certificate will allow you to maintain your professional standing in Yukon. It does not allow you to actively practice as a physiotherapist.

    Renewal period

All physiotherapist certificates expire annually on January 31. Submit your renewal application before December 31. This ensures we can process your certificate before it expires.

Applicants who have not renewed by March 31, must apply for reinstatement and pay all applicable fees.

    Eligibility

You're eligible to renew a physiotherapist inactive certificate if you meet all of the following requirements.

    • You hold a current physiotherapist inactive certificate in Yukon.
    • You complete steps 2 to 5 of this application process.
  2. Complete the renewal application form

Complete all sections of the renewal application form. Do not leave a section blank. You may enter “not applicable” when it's relevant. We may return incomplete applications.

  3. Provide all supporting documents required

You must also provide the following with your application.

    Certificate of standing

    • You must provide a certificate of standing if you're registered to practice in another Canadian jurisdiction.
    • Request the certificate from the regulatory body of that jurisdiction.
    • Have the regulatory body send the certificate directly to Professional Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (PLRA).
    • We do not accept certificates of standing submitted by applicants.
  4. Pay your fees

    Fees

    Annual inactive certificate fee: $40.

Late fee: $40 (for renewals processed between February 1 and March 31).

After March 31, applicants must apply for reinstatement and pay all applicable fees.

    How to pay

There are 3 ways to pay: by cheque, credit card or cash/debit.

    Cheque

    • Provide a cheque in the appropriate amount made out to Goverment of Yukon.
    • We will cash the cheque if we approve your licence.

    • If you submit your application in-person, by courier or mail, you may include your credit card info on your payment information form.
    • If you submit your application by email or fax, do not include your credit card info on your form. We will contact you for your credit card info.
    • We will take payment when ready to issue licence.

    Cash/debit

  5. Submit your complete application package

Submit your complete renewal application package before December 31. This ensures we can process your certificate before it expires.

    The package must include:

    • your completed renewal application form;
    • all supporting documents; and
    • your payment form.

If sending by mail, courier or in-person, you may also include a cheque for your fees made out to "Government of Yukon." If you do not include a cheque, we will contact you regarding payment when we are ready to issue your licence.

It typically takes 30 business days to process a renewal application. We'llconfirm you've met all legal requirements before issuing a certificate. We may return your application if you have not provided all the required documentation.
