We can help you access services to get your foreign credentials recognized to work in health care in the Yukon. The Foreign Credential Recognition Navigation Service is a pilot program.
Eligibility
You can use our Foreign Credential Recognition Navigation Service if you:
- are an internationally educated health professional;
- reside in the Yukon;
- are legally entitled to work in Canada;
- do not yet have a license to practice in Canada; and
- demonstrate a commitment to practice in the Yukon within the next 2 years.
This service is intended to benefit those who can demonstrate a commitment to practicing and working in the Yukon. We may consider exceptions to the residency requirement on a case-by-case basis.
Services we offer
We can:
- provide information on:
- provide one-on-one counselling, in-person in Whitehorse or remotely;
- conduct a professional needs assessment;
- create a personalized credential recognition action plan;
- refer you to:
- regulatory bodies;
- employment counselling services; and
- settlement service providers;
- connect you with:
- workplace integration programs;
- training opportunities; and
- specific job postings, including from:
- help you build your resume and prepare for interviews;
- gather information from regulatory bodies and employers; and
- recommend funding towards specific costs to get your credentials recognized if you’re currently living in the Yukon. This may include funding for:
- exams;
- licensing;
- credential assessments; and
- training costs, including support for travel.
