- hold a Yukon licence; and
- renew their licence every year.

The renewal period begins in the first week of July. Apply to renew by July 31. This ensures we can review your application before your licence expires on September 30.
It's illegal for you or your employees to do business or work in the new licensing year if your licence has not been approved.
Processing time
- We review applications in the order we receive them.
- Review of complete applications can take up to 30 business days.
- You'll receive an email when your application is reviewed.
If your application does not meet requirements
- We'll contact you if additional information is required.
- Incomplete applications will not be processed. Complete submissions help avoid delays.
- Your licence will expire.
Late applications
- Your application may not be reviewed before your licence expires.
- Your licence may expire.
- When a licence expires, the licenses of agents working under the agency will also be suspended.
- It will be illegal for you or your employees to conduct insurance business in the Yukon.
Eligibility
You can apply to renew your insurance agency's licence if:
- the agency holds a current Yukon insurance agency licence; and
- you are agency's designated representative.
Before you start
- Check the Yukon Corporate Registry to make sure the agency is in compliance.
- Gather your proof of good standing (non-Yukon agencies only).
- Update the agency's errors and omissions insurance.
- Confirm the information on file is current and valid for:
- designated representative(s);
- directors and partners;
- contact information;
- address; and
- phone number.

- Provide your documents in an electronic format such as PDF, JPG or PNG.
- Upload the document we require directly through the portal.
- Review all declarations and uploaded documentation before submitting.

Non-resident
These annual fees apply if your home jurisdiction is outside the Yukon.

- Accident and sickness: $100

Resident
These annual fees apply if the Yukon is your home jurisdiction.
- Life, accident and sickness: $100
- Accident and sickness: $50
- General: $50
Payment
All fees must be paid when you apply on the online portal.
Fees are non-refundable and non-creditable, including if an application is:
- withdrawn;
- denied;
- suspended; or
- closed.
- Log in to the portal.
- Review the agency's contact information, designated representative(s) and directors.
- If updates are needed, edit your profile or submit a change request.
- Upload supporting documents:
- updated errors and omissions insurance; and
- home jurisdiction licence, if required.

- Complete the declarations and sign the form.
