You must renew your psychologist certificate every year between November 1 and December 31. You’ll be subject to a $200 late fee if you send in your application after December 31.
Continuing education
To be eligible for renewal, you must complete 75 hours of continuing education every 3 years.

Complaints, disciplinary or criminal action against you
We'll assess your eligibility on a case-by-case basis. We may not approve your renewal if you have faced complaints, disciplinary or criminal action in the past year.
Types of certificates
There are 4 types of certificates you can apply to renew:
- Full certificate
- Provisional certificate
- Courtesy certificate
- Inactive certificate
Full and provisional certificate
Required documents
You need to provide:
a completed application form;
- proof of continuing education per the Standards of Practice; and
- proof of liability insurance.
If you're registered to practice in another jurisdiction, we require:
- verification of registration from all jurisdictions you're currently licensed in; and
- the regulator to send these documents directly to Professional and Corporate Affairs.
Fees
- Application fee: $50
- Annual certificate fee (full): $200
- Annual certificate fee (provisional): $100
- Late renewal if you sent your application after December 31: an additional $200
Courtesy certificate
Required documents
- Summary of purpose form approved by the Registrar.
- Proof of liability insurance.
- You can submit a summary of purpose form in advance of your application to determine if you should apply for a courtesy or full certificate renewal.
Fees
- Annual certificate fee: $100
- Late renewal if you sent your application after December 31: an additional $200
Inactive certificate
An inactive certificate allows you to maintain your standing as a psychologist in the Yukon if are not actively practising psychology.
