Renew an insurance professional licence

Eligibility

You can apply to renew your insurance agent licence if you meet the following requirements:

• you hold a current Yukon insurance agent licence; and
• your employer has not changed since you last applied.

Registered in another jurisdiction: additional documents

You must provide us with proof you are licensed in the province or territory you live in.

We accept:

• a recent screenshot from your home regulator’s online register;
• a copy of your insurance agent or broker licence from your home jurisdiction;
• a certificate of authority from your home regulator; or
• any combination of the above.

You must ensure this document shows all the following:

• your name;
• your licence number;
• the class(es) of insurance you're licensed to sell; and
• your current licence status or licence expiry date.

Tips

• Upload the documents we require directly through the portal.
• Upload your licence(s) from the province or territory where you live.
• Review all the declarations and uploaded documents before submitting.

Fees and payment

Non-resident

These annual fees apply if you live outside the Yukon.

• Life, accident and sickness: $200
• Accident and sickness: $100
• General: $100

Resident

These annual fees apply if you live in the Yukon.

• Life, accident and sickness: $100
• Accident and sickness: $50
• General: $50

Payment

All fees must be paid when you apply.

Fees are non-refundable and non-creditable, including if an application is:

• withdrawn;
• denied;
• suspended; or
• closed.

Eligibility

You can apply to renew your insurance salesperson licence if you:

• hold a current Yukon insurance salesperson licence; and
• you have a sponsoring insurance agent who's licensed in the Yukon to sell general insurance.

All applicants must provide the Notice of appointment of insurance salesperson form.

Resident

This annual fee applies if you live in the Yukon. The annual licence fee is $25.

• You can apply to renew your insurance adjuster licence if you hold a current Yukon insurance adjuster licence.

• Additional documents

• You must provide us with proof of good standing from your home jurisdiction. We accept:
• a recent screenshot from your home regulator’s online register;
• a copy of your insurance adjuster licence from your home jurisdiction;
• a certificate of authority from your home regulator; or
• any combination of the above.
• You must ensure this document shows all the following:
• your name;
• your licence number;
• the classes of insurance you're licensed to sell; and
• your current licence status or licence expiry date.

You can apply to renew your restricted travel agent licence if you meet the following requirements.

• You hold a current Yukon restricted travel agent licence.
• You have permission from a licensed Yukon insurer to sell their products.

Go to the online portal

1. Log in to the portal.
2. Review profile information.
   1. If updates are needed, edit your profile or submit a change request.
3. Upload all necessary supporting documents.
4. Complete the declarations and sign the form.
5. Pay the required fees and submit.
